biography
David Vuong (b. 2001, North Carolina) currently based in Providence, RI is a ceramic sculptor whose work explores material processes primarily in ceramics, metal, and glass. His practice engages with concepts of deep time, artifact-making, and biological processes, examining shared human experiences through sculptural forms. By referencing the body’s external and internal structure, he utilizes scale to evoke connections between the human form, geography, and subconscious entities. He received his BFA from Alfred University in 2024 and recently completed a post-baccalaureate in ceramics at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Currently is a long term resident artist at The Steelyard and a Haystack Mountain School of Crafts Artist Grant Initiative awardee.
